4X World Championships, Val di Sole, Italy

From Canada I went pretty much straight to World Championships in Italy. I never felt so ready for a race before and at the same time, I started getting excited everytinme I thought about the race.

In qualifier I had a pretty decent run and set the 5th fastetst time. I was really happy with this keeping in mind that time trials are not what I’m good at.

On Raceday, I was focussed a hundred percent having only one thing in mind: Getting these rainbow stripes. In the all important race, I advanced on to the semi finals and felt good on the track. Then in semis I was riding in second position when the Italian Giovanni Pozzoni pulled a move on me, slipped away and took both of us down. The disappointment I felt when I was dragging my bike down to the finishline was unreal, that emptiness killed me.

Anyway, in the small final I had the anger in my mind and body. I got to the finishline first and set the fastest time of the day, which showed me that I was on it. As we all know, loosing is one of the hardest things but happens too;) 5th place for me though, and lots of experience which will help me get it one day.

Crankworx Whistler, Canada

In August, I flew over to Whistler for the first time to compete at the Crankworx Festival.

I competed at several races like the Fox Air DH, the Giant Dual-Slalom and the Rock-Shox Pumptrack Challenge.

It was loads of fun, riding my bike every day in Whistler Bikepark and getting in some more competitions to get ready for 4X World Championships.

4X Pro Tour Round 3 & 4

In July I travelled to Rounds 3 and 4 with the G-Form-Aweka Factory Team. e

The Polish guys know how to host a Pro Tour Race that’s for sure! The venue around Sunny Meadow 4X Track is one of the best of the series, great track.

I was feeling it on the track but qualified quite slow as always, still couldn’t push my limits enaugh. What didn’t go too well in qualies went the better in my race. I qualified for the main event without major troubles and managed to finish the race in 3rd position which puts me into 2nd spot in the overall ranking.

From Poland we travelled straight to Czech Republic for the fourth round of 4X Pro Tour, probably the raddest and most dangerous race of the year was on.

In the first practice my teammate Mirco weiss crashed hard and got away with serious back injuries. As if this was not enaugh trouble, we got robbed the following night. No excuses, I did not ride how I know I can the days after and went home in quarter finals. Luckily I got away without injuries, but it was a week to forget for me.

4X Pro Tour Round 2, Fort William, Scotland

Last weekend our team and me flew over to scotland for the second round of 4X Pro Tour. The track was rough as hell and the weather was worse than you can imagine – temperatures below 10 degrees and heavy rain were giving us hard times.

My qualification didn’t go to bad, I crossed the line in 6th Position, eventhough I lost too much time to the top spot in my eyes.

On Saturday afternoon (the race was taken 2 hours forward because of some storm that was predicted for the night) it got all serious. I managed to get into the semi finals without major troubles but then missed to advance to the main event. Lewis Lacey was just riding too smart to find a way to overtake, big up!

In the small final I was sitting in second position until I pulled a move on the winner of qualifying, the Frenchman Quentin Derbier. I managed to win the drag race on the last straight, ending up on the Podium again after a photo-finish.

Next race will be the third round of the Bergamont Swiss 4Cross Series in Laufenburg, maybe see you there!

4Cross Pro Tour Round 1

Last weekend it was all about 4Cross Pro Tour!

It’s always special to be at the gate at the first race of the World Series of the season. All the big names show up and when the gate drops, you’ll see who had a good winter and if all your work has payed off. I had a decent qualifier in Winterberg, coming in 9th spot on a track that doesn’t suit me that well.

I had a blast in the finals on sunday, winning every heat to qualify for the main event. In the final, Quentin Derbier, Scott Beaumont and Benedikt Last lined up. Everyone had a very good first straight so it got pretty messy in the first Corner. I came together with Benedikt Last, chased him to the finishline and finished in 4th place. I’m really happy with that and I’ll go back to work to do even better in Fort William in 2 weeks!

Check out the Video from the main Events!

Internationales Eliterennen-/ Deutsche Meisterschaft in Reutlingen

Last race was an international elite race in Germany hosted by the German National Championships. I managed to take the win against the international field of racers. It’s my first win of the season and I’m hungry for more!

Swiss Cycling Awards

After the season came to an end a couple of weeks ago with my overall win in the Bergamont Swiss 4Cross Series, there is something interesting going on again!
I got nominated as a contender for the Swiss-Cycling award with my third place at World Champs. Being on that list with all these legends in cycling feels kind of strange but is a huge honor for me!

It be awesome if I’d be your choice!:)
