4X Pro Tour Round 1 Szczawno Zdroj, Poland

So, last week it was finally time for the season starter of the 4X Pro Tour in Poland. I had a great winter of training and I was ready to start my season, being in great shape, physical as well as mental.

The 4X track in Szczawno Zdroj is one of my favourite tracks. It suits my riding style and the facility is just amazing. It’s in perfect condition and the jumps on this high speed track are just huge and so fun to ride.

On Thursday and Friday I had some good practice sessions with my Swiss buddys steezing down the track in trains. Then, on Saturday it was time to go racing. My quali run was alright, I had a decent lap and set the 15th fastest time. When it started to get dark and the lights were on, the racing started. I won my 1/16 final and came in secont in my 1/8 final. In the quarters I had to take lane four because the other riders in my heat were faster in qualifying, so I had it all to do on the first straight. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the snap and chased Miland Mysik and Hannes Slavik to the finish line. At the end I couldn’t quite make it and so I had to finish my night with a big whip over the last 45ft. jump for the 4000 spectators tracksides. I finished the race in a solid 10th spot!

Now I’m looking forward for the second round of the Swiss 4Cross Cup in Winterthur this weekend!

Cheers

Simon
